What is Glivec used for?

Glivec is a chemotherapy medication that treats blood cancer such as leukemia and myelodysplastic disorder. Imatinib is the generic name of this medication and it is a 2-phenylamino pyrimidine that acts as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
