Phospholipids have been widely used in the preparation of liposomes, ethosomes, and other nanoformulations for oral or parenteral drugs delivery. Such nanostructures could improve bioavailability and reduce the toxicity of traditional drugs, and protect therapeutic substances (antibodies, mRNA, etc.) from being degraded. Besides, the phospholipids modified with different molecules can form multifunctional liposomes.
